Lamentations 2:9-11

⁹ Her ^(A)gates have sunk into the ground;
He has destroyed and broken her bars.
Her king and her princes are among the nations;
The ^(B)law is no more.
Also, her prophets find
^(C)No vision from Yahweh.

¹⁰ The elders of the daughter of Zion
^(D)Sit on the ground; they ^(E)are silent.
They have thrown ^(F)dust up on their heads;
They have girded themselves with ^(G)sackcloth.
The ^(H)virgins of Jerusalem
Have bowed their heads down to the ground.

¹¹ My ^(I)eyes fail because of tears;
My ^[a](J)inmost being is greatly disturbed;
My ^[b](K)heart is poured out on the earth
^(L)Because of the ^[c]destruction of the daughter of my people,
When ^(M)infants and nursing babies faint
In the open squares of the city.
